Idol Killer
God's Redemption of Man & the History of Penal Substitution
Did Jesus come to buy or enable God's forgiveness, or did He come because God is forgiving?
In this first episode of Idol Killer, we consider God's redemption of man in light of early Redemptive Models (Recapitulation, Ransom & Moral Influence) as well as latter theories such as Satisfaction and Penal Substitution Atonement.
An emphasis is made on the latter (PSA) and we review the problems this theory causes:
1. Division among the Trinity (Godhead)
2. Promoting Tritheism & Modalism
3. Denial of God's immutability
4. Denial of Jesus' divinity
5. Teaching God can't forgive sinners
6. Teaching God doesn't care if He punishes the innocent
7. The claim God poured His wrath on Jesus
8. The perversion of God from love to wrath
9. The perversion of God's justice
10. Double jeopardy
11. Teaching Limited Atonement
12. The claim a debt paid is a debt forgiven
13. A license to sin
