Fallacious Foundations of PSA - Answering Mike Winger E8
In Episode 8 of our continuing response to Mike Winger's claims regarding Penal Substitutionary Atonement (PSA), we consider his fallacious arguments. The fallacy of hypostatized proof (Reification) is when an abstraction is treated as though it were the event itself. This episode seeks to demonstrate Mike Winger's repeated reliance upon such fallacious reasoning. To date, Mike has produced six lengthy videos offering a robust defense of PSA while simultaneously claiming Christians who do not accept his Atonement Theory do so by way of misrepresenting the facts, engaging in historical revisionism & teaching unBiblical views of how we are saved. He insists PSA is the heart of Christianity and the Gospel. Were his claims true, this would mean Christianity lacked a full understanding of the Work of Christ until the Reformation era. With respect to @MikeWinger, it is our contention that he is the one who is engaging in historical revisionism, & an anachronistic handling of the materials. Though, we do not believe he is doing so intentionally, but rather the result of a bias which has left him far from objective. In this episode we provide several quotes from Mike, as well as a clip from James White @AominOrg and numerous passages of Scripture. "Is Penal Substitution True?" The answer is clearly, "No!"
