Mike Winger produced a 6 part video series defending Penal Substitutionary Atonement (PSA). Across these six videos, Mike claimed argued that the Early Church Fathers taught Penal Substitutionary Atonement. He argued that to deny this requires dissenters to engage in historical revisionism. However, this creates a serious problem for Mike, as this places him at odds with the Atonement School itself. In this episode we provide quotes from @MikeWinger, as well as clips & quotes from various theologians such as James White @AominOrg, John MacArthur @gracetoyou, Tim Keller, Wayne Grudem, Walter Martin, Athanasios S. Frangopoulos & John Calvin. We also spend considerable time examining Early Church Fathers such as Cyril of Jerusalem, John of Damascus, Gregory of Nazianzus & Basil of Caesarea; demonstrating that Penal Substitution is a later development & NOT an essential doctrine of the Christian faith.
