A Doctrine Examined - Episode 3 - The Incarnation of Christ
In this episode we consider the impact Original Sin and Total Depravity have on the incarnation of Christ. Additionally, we explore the doctrines of Mary's Immaculate Conception and a common misunderstanding of the Virgin Conception.
Augustinian sin philosophy asserts that as a result of Adam, we're all born spiritually dead, possessing his guilt and sin nature; that our flesh, will, soul and intellect are corrupt and we're naturally incapable of knowing God or rightly understanding spiritual truths.
Yet, Scripture says Jesus came in our flesh and blood, like us in every respect. So if our flesh is sinful and corrupt and Jesus came in our flesh... how does this impact His role as the spotless and sinless Redeemer of Scripture?
This series will conduct a comprehensive examination of Augustinian inherited sin doctrines, consider various passages in Scripture used to teach and refute this, as well as take a critical look and consider the various problems that may arise.
